Back in August 1988, YO! MTV RAPS played an instrumental role in turning rap music into one of the most influential art forms of the 20th century.
Now, Yo! is back with an all-new revival built around some of the biggest names currently in the game.
This worldwide release targets a whole new generation of fans on Paramount +, jam packed with cyphers, lifestyle content as well as live performances.
The updated package pays homage to the original look and feel, with design updates that reflect a modern hip hop voice. The foundation that exists is so iconic, it would be foolish to try and reinvent. Rather, the team spent time fine tuning the existing elements and adding a few design and animation updates; a zine culture aesthetic that nods to up and coming talent, a warp and “flow” motion theory, and an fresh color palette that moved away from the primary’s of the 80’s past and into a richer, more sophisticated space.
